The Pennsylvania Game Commission has authorized the Pennsylvania Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Council (an advisory board to the PGC) to provide limited grants to individual rehabilitators/centers specifically to offset expenses related to the care and treatment of Eagles.

Two grants currently are funded:

  • Expenses associated with the treatment of lead poisoning in eagles
  • General expenses for the rehabilitation of eagles admitted for any reason.

 

General Criteria and Limitations

  • Grants are exclusively for Pennsylvania wildlife rehabilitators treating eagles from Pennsylvania.
  • Permitted Pennsylvania wildlife rehabilitators and wildlife rehabilitation centers are eligible to apply for grants consistent with the purposes of this grant.
  • Applicants must possess applicable permits to work with eagles.
  • Applicants may apply for an emergency grant of up to $500.00 in order to assist with expenses at the time of admitting the bird.
  • Applicants may apply for multiple grants with priority given to emergency requests.

Communication

  • Applicants will receive an email acknowledging receipt of their request.
  • If a grant is approved, the grantee will be required to sign and return a grant agreement upon receiving the funds.
  • Completion reports will be required for emergency grants within six months of disbursement of funds.
Eagle Grant Application

APPLICATION

Only wildlife rehabilitators permitted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are eligible to apply for this grant.

Grant money is to be used exclusively for the treatment of eagles in Pennsylvania.
